God Shamash and the SunGEMSTONE RUBY
Shamash or Utu in Sumer and later Babylon is the name of the Sun God. The purest unbroken influences come from him. Association between the Sun and the King is mythological. The Sun God was called “the brilliant”. He was also brave, the judge. He sees everything. That is why he is the deity of truth and justice. He punishes the bad and the liar, and rewards the good, the decent, and the honest. During the day he judges the living, at night he judges the dead.
